Virtual vernissage / Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay: I Don’t Know Where Paradise Is

September 23, 2020

4:00 pm - 4:45 pm

Benny Nemerofsky Ramsay will be joining us from Paris for a celebratory gathering hosted by Ottawa's own Glenn Nuotio!

We’ll convene on Zoom: you can register here

Curator Heather Anderson will briefly introduce the exhibition and reflect on how plans shifted in light of COVID-19.

There will also be a short Q&A with Dr. Ann Cvetkovich, Director of Carleton University’s Pauline Jewett Institute of Women’s and Gender Studies, and Nemerofsky on intersections between their research and creation practices, such as queer private librairies.

We will unveil a floral arrangement designed by Ottawa-based artist and model Vincent Edet in collaboration with Kat Kosk of Blumenstudio.

Nemerofsky has designed a signature (but customizable) cocktail for the event.

Mix:

Something floral, like crème de violette, rose-flavoured gin, an edible floral garnish.

Something sparkling, like soda water, ginger ale, prosecco, champagne.

Something bitter, like green tea, a sliver of orange peel, Angostura.

Something missing, like the flavour of your first kiss, a forgotten song, something that didn’t leave a trace.

We’re excited to raise a glass and celebrate this exhibition together!
