Rah Eleh's monumental video installation presents a parody of a futuristic talent show.
The artist performs the role of seven characters, including Oreo, Fatimeh and Coco, whose entries in the talent show examine issues of race and ethnic performance.
Set in an intergalactic realm, SuperNova also explores “ethno-futurism” and challenges the euro-centric cultural gaze that represents eastern subjects as stagnant and frozen in time.
