This richly-illustrated catalogue surveys the birth of the photomontage process as an art form as it simultaneously developed in Germany and the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 1930s.

It includes period texts by designers and artists including Louis Aragon, Hannah Höch, El Lissitzky, Jan Tschichold, Raoul Hausmann and Gustavs Klucis.

This catalogue won the “Art Publication of the Year” award at the Ontario Association of Art Galleries Awards in Toronto in 2014.
