Drop-in to work on your fibre arts project (or join a collaborative project!)
Crochet, knitting, sewing, needle felting… the fibre arts are a perfect way to spend a cozy Sunday afternoon with friends. Local artist, great fibre friend, and CUAG’s amazing student ambassador Saivani Sanassy, along with gallery ambassador Thomas Breault, is bringing back the popular weekly, fibre-focused, drop-in art-making session at the gallery this fall.
Bring your own project or work on a collaborative banner to uplift community voices. All supplies provided, but feel free to bring your own and share your skills.
ALL fibre-knowledge levels are welcome.

Saivani Sanassy is a Mauritian Canadian artist based in Ottawa who loves to explore natural and fantastical subjects through textile, watercolour, ceramics, and jewelry. Art has been an important part of their life since they can remember, it has been an expressive and therapeutic tool in understanding herself, her identity, and methods of pedagogy.
Thomas Breault is a 3rd year Biology student here at Carleton and can be spotted behind the front desk at CUAG as a Student Ambassador. He has been needle felting for 2 years, mostly making small animal figures and characters as a hobby. Prior to studying Biology in Ottawa, he attended Vancouver Film School in their Foundational Media Arts program.
