Visitors interacting with Andy Slater and Emily Cook: Unknown Area, Fall 2025 Exhibition

CUAG is expanding the ways it integrates digital technologies in exhibitions and public programs. From collaborations with Ottawa-based art groups like Debaser (Sonic Bridge and Ottawa Drone Day), to podcasts expanding exhibition themes in-depth (TBC: Troubling the Archive), to interactive digital elements as a form of creative access (Andy Slater and Emily Cook: Underground Sidewalk and the upcoming Joi T. Arcand: ᑳᐃᓯᓈᑿᐦᑭ ᐃᑘᐏᓇ kā-isinākwahki itwēwina: The Shape of Words), CUAG is a place where art and technology intersect.

Visitors will soon be able to experience the new Campus Art Walk and explore art across Carleton’s campus. Following a self-guided audio tour, visitors will be able to explore sculptures and a mosaic mural in Carleton’s collection displayed year-round on campus.

Andy Slater and Emily Cook: Underground Sidewalk
Wit López, a light-skinned gender non-conforming Black Boricua person, is wearing a tall, periwinkle blue headwrap with 6 long, thick turquoise yarn braids hanging down from the top of the wrap to past their shoulders. There are small blue yarn half circles lining the wrap near their forehead and a small blue knitting loom atop the wrap as a crown. They have on dark turquoise eyeshadow, turquoise glitter lipstick, and black false eyelashes on their bottom eyelid. There is a large version of Wit with a disgusted facial expression on the left side of the image, looking down on a slightly smaller version of them with a sad face, peeking out from behind the large version is another slightly smaller version of Wit that is smiling mischievously and looking into the camera, in the upper right corner is a much smaller, upside down version of Wit with an angry face. The background is a digital quilt of mostly ocean themed batik fabrics in various shades of blue.
