CUAG, Thunder Bay Art Gallery and MacKenzie Art Gallery are thrilled to announce the publication of Christi Belcourt, the first book on the renowned artist and activist. It is produced in conjunction with Belcourt’s first retrospective, UPRISING: The Power of Mother Earth – Christi Belcourt – A Retrospective with Isaac Murdoch.
The beautiful, richly-illustrated book traces the artist’s work over three decades, including recent paintings made with Isaac Murdoch, and documents Belcourt’s and Murdoch’s collaborative activism.
The book is designed by Mark Timmings and printed in Vancouver by Hemlock. The Anishinaabemowin translation is by Patricia Ningewance and Roger Roulette / Indigenous Languages of Manitoba Inc.
Stay tuned for news on how to purchase the book from CUAG.
