Join a celebration of Somali Canadian experiences, organized in conjunction with Faisa Omer: Threading Roots.
Members of the Ottawa Somali community will share poetry, dance and stories of home, along with delicious food. Artist Faisa Omer and curator Reyhab Mohmed Patel will lead us through Faisa’s exhibition.

Faisa Omer is a photographer and mental health professional who was born and raised in Ottawa.
Reyhab Mohmed Patel is a PhD candidate in Sociology at Carleton University, scholar-artist, and curator whose work explores Muslim creative practices, cultural memory, identity, and belonging.
