CUAG is thrilled to announce Stonecroft Semester: The Art of Negotiating Visibility, a themed series of free public events that take place over the fall 2026 semester.
The semester is generously supported by the Stonecroft Foundation for the Arts, which promotes education in the visual arts and fosters the public’s appreciation of the visual arts.
Stonecroft Semester takes the form of a series of events organized to accompany two concurrent CUAG exhibitions: Joi T. Arcand: ᑳᐃᓯᓈᑿᐦᑭᐃᑘᐏᓇ kā-isinākwahki itwēwina: The Shape of Words and Faisa Omer: Threading Roots.
These events explore how artists counter erasure and narrow representations to bring visibility to language, cultural expression and joy. Through artist-led conversations and workshops, participants will engage with practices of reclamation and storytelling, connecting with the themes of the exhibitions.
